can anyone out there scan from the first chapter of what does the bible really teach book?
it is a newer publication.
aparently on another thread, chapter one explains why questions are good to ask of your religion.
I couldn't find it there, but maybe I'm just tired...I have the book and can scan for you, but, looking it over, I don't see much. I have scanned the first 2 pages of Ch.1 so you can take a look, but photobucket is unavailable at the moment.
~Merry
Dear Merry,
I can't find the scan either, at re examin.org.
Thank you stillaxelder..
Thanks to all who are always so ready to help! I really appreciate you!!

Dear Blueblades,
Thank you VERY much!!
Lady Liberty
hi ive been studying for 2 years and i feel really under pressure to make a move and get baptized!!!
i attended all meetings and live my life according to the way jehovah's requests, (as best i can) i feel a bit lost and under pressure!!!
any advice is more than welcome
Dear Rockkchick30,
First of all, your baptism is only a outward symbol of the dedication you have already made with Jehovah in your heart. If you are feeling pressured, and you go through with it because of them, then it wasn't for the right reasons anyway. I studied for over a year with a lady that I became VERY good friends with. She went through the entire Knowledge book, came to meetings, and took a stand on many issues. But for some reason she never quite could bring herself to baptism. I never knew why. I never wanted to pressure her, for I knew if I did, she would be only doing it because of just that, PRESSURE! Come to find out, there were things that really bothered her that she just couldn't over come. I am glad now, she listened to her heart. I believe Jehovah was trying to tell her something.
Sincerely,
Lady Liberty

Hi everyone,
Can anyone out there scan from the first chapter of What Does the Bible Really Teach book? It is a newer publication. Aparently on another thread, chapter one explains why questions are good to ask of your religion. I am going to be having my 3rd Elders meeting next week sometime and would love to have this to read to them. I would love to have the page that makes this statement. Especially since it is my questioning the Societys dates that will be discussed.
Thank you,
Lady Liberty
this is my first post.
i've been reading for a while and can relate to a lot of the other post.
been associated with the witnesses for over 30 years now, been disfellowshipped twice but now reinstated.
He was disfellowhipped….not for what he did to me but for adultery…he is now reinstated.
Dear Tan,
It makes me SICK! They will punish him for adultry, but NOT for the rape of a child?? I am so sorry!!
Sincerely,
Lady Liberty
i was going to post the follow thread, but i've used up my posts for today, maybe you could do it for me?
ok folks, i'm going to attempt to write a comphrensive thread on this subject and update it over the next few days so i will be ready for my appeal hearing (which i heard at the memorial might be this coming monday).
i went to the library at mcmaster and checked out every book by grayson i could find.
I get it! I get It! The date is 589bc, and NOT 607bc, a difference of 18 years. So instead of 1914 it should be 1932? Am I right? EXACTLY!!!!! Sincerly, Lady Liberty

Dear Cordella,
There WAS 70 years of servitude for Babylon! What they don't want to admit to is the captives were taken long before Jerusalem was destroyed. The 70 years still fit. They have to! Here is a copy of a thread I posted recently on this very subject. Be sure to look up the cited scriptures. You will find it ALL fits. Even the 70 years! I hope this helps you.
Sincerely,
Lady Liberty
Hi everyone,
I just made this chart for my brother-in-law using the Bible as well as the book entitled Assyrian & Babylonian Chronicles by A.K. Grayson printed in 1975. Grayson is a world renound expert used to decipher the Assyrian and Babylonian Chronicles for the British Museum. I checked out this book from the local library. Although they had to send away to a College University for it. A interesting note: the Society uses this very book in the Insight Vol.2 under Nebuchadnezzar to support their dates. When I got this book, it was for the purpose of checking their dates and quotes of this author. As you will see by this chart, they have misquoted him to serve their own deceitful purpose! I included scriptures that support the chronicles. Like I said, I made this for my brother-in-law, but thought someone out there might be able to use it.
Have a great night!
Lady Liberty

hello all, i am a noob to the board.
i was an occasional lurker here at this apostate site ;)
have been doing a lot of research and man i am supprised.
Dear Rassillon,
WELCOME!!! If you have been lurking, then you will find there has been ALOT of discussion about chronology lately. And there are several of us in the "hot seat" over it right now. (we are awaiting our third meeting) If you need any information on anything, just ask! Someone most likely will have it and be able to get it to you. You are doing the right thing in checking things out, regardless of your end decision. If you read my introduction story, you will find that I too began having questions regarding the dates. I have spent the last year studying chronology, as many others have here. Anyway, welcome. And oh, by the way, what would your wife do if you shared your findings out now, so she could take this journey of research with you? I always worry about friends keeping this from their mate until they are too far apart and cannot communicate and reason. I don't know..just a thought!
Sincerely,
Lady Liberty
P.S. This goes to show all of us that even though this "chronology" topic gets old for some (not me) but.. this is the very topic that gets people to check things out for themselves!
